The European Trade Union Confederation’s congress, where trade union renewal was a central theme, concluded today with the election of a new leadership team which is gender-balanced and the youngest in the history of the organisation. Irish trade unionist Esther Lynch, who first became involved in the labour movement while working in a micro-chip factory in the 1980s, will lead the team over the next four years as General Secretary.

Some tourism tips If you are in Berlin and wish to do some tourism but you do not have much time, one suitable option is the Hop on Hop off bus. The bus ride is around 2.5hours if you do not disembark at any of the stops.  The bus runs every 30minutes and the tour ticket, which takes you to the top historical places in. Getting around in Berlin This section is intended at giving practical information about the different transport modes in Berlin: Transport tickets You can buy a single ticket, a 24 hour single ticket or a 7 day single ticket. Tickets are valid on all forms of public transport in Berlin.  Don’t forget to validate your ticket, otherwise you can get fined. Public transport stops close to the Verti Music Hall

The Congress centre This section will contain details about the amenities of the congress center: The venue for the congress shall be Verti Music Hall , Mercedes-Platz 2, 10243 Berlin, Germany. This is one of the most sought after venues in Berlin of its size and capacity.

Travelling from the airport to the Congress Venue The simplest way to travel from the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to the Verti Music Hall is with the S-Bahn line.  The airport railway station is located directly under Terminal 1. The S-Bahn also goes through Terminal 5.
