In the face of the current economic crisis, European trade unions have intensified their demands for an internationally sustainable development agenda with concrete action on jobs, investment and social protection. Strengthening the social dimension of sustainable development is vital within the EU as well as at international level.
European “Just Transition” strategies and programmes will need to be implemented to transform the economy on the scale needed while helping workers to adjust to changing labour market conditions.
