A flexible job on platforms with no boss sounds like an ideal opportunity, but watch out!

You might be taken for a boat ride on a deceptively calm sea where unsettling sharks lurk: inequality, unpredictable salaries, union busting, gender discrimination and your boss? Well, they’re just a robot.

To avoid this, we need a strong directive to regulate platforms and ensure fair working conditions for employees.


State of play

Negotiations are now approaching a critical stage, and at the same time, the Directive is under attack by conservative forces in Europe.

ETUC supports the work of rapporteur Gualmini and her allies in her ambitions for a strong Directive that will protect the rights of workers, and the rights of self-employed and ensure fair competition.
