The ETUC and its General Secretary, Luca Visentini sends its full support for the general strike of the UGTT (Tunisia) taking place on 16 June 2022, in particular their demands for
- The enforcement of sectoral collective agreements
- An increase in the minimum wage
- National social dialogue negotiations to improve wages in the public sector
- The removal of the State Decree No 20 which supresses the right to negotiate and the requirement for prior approval from the Prime Minister
“We stand in solidarity with our colleagues from the UGTT in their important fight for democracy and the full respect of social and trade union rights in Tunisia” stated Luca Visentini.
