Dear Friends,

Latin America is becoming more and more important to Europe and in international affairs both politically and economically, especially after the election of Trump in the USA.

We strongly believe that strengthening our relations and cooperation with respective parties, governments and civil society in Latin America is very important. This will stimulate a discussion how to revive a fruitful partnership between the sister continents Europe and Latin America.

Together with Latin American partners at multilateral level, we should defend our common positions concerning global governance and stability, climate change, development and democracy.

The Global Progressive Forum in cooperation with the European Trade Union Confederation and the  Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is organising an EU-Latin America Progressive Dialogue We will discuss the current situation in Brazil and Argentina and its impact on Latin America as a whole. The conference will take place on March 20th from 3 pm to 6pm in the European Parliament (Room AG3G).
