Joël Decaillon was elected Deputy General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) by its Executive Committee which met on 1st and 2nd December. He will be responsible, inter alia, for social dialogue negotiations at the European level. This election was necessary following the appointment of Maria Helena André as Minister of Labour and Social Protection in her native Portugal.
