In Vienna the trade unions organise on the same subject a mass demonstration after the huge success of the strike of the 6th of May. In a message addressed to the French and the Austrian member organisations, Emilio Gabaglio while expressing solidarity of the ETUC to the actions engaged, stresses that beyond national specificities the question is open throughout Europe and calls for a greater convergence of objectives in the trade-union struggle for the defence of this essential element of the European social model.
