What jobs in a low carbon European economy ?

On 20 and 21 February 2007, the European Trade Union Confederation will organise a high level conference on ‘Climate change and employment’. The conference will aim at discussing the results of the study co-sponsored by the European Commission and six European environmental ministries to assess the potential impact on European employment of climate change and EU climate change mitigation policy up to 2030. The conference will bring together representatives of environmental ministries, the European Commission, trade union organisations, businesses, NGOs and research centres to explore ways to reinforce synergies between climate protection policies and employment and social policies.
