At its Executive Committee on December 1, the ETUC reaffirms aim of putting social Europe at the heart of the Lisbon Strategy. For the ETUC, the mid-term review of the Lisbon process has to acknowledge that social Europe is a powerful force for productivity and growth. A resolution will be adopted on this subject.

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Mr. Juncker, will attend the ETUC Executive Committee. Under his presidency the revision of the Lisbon Strategy and the adjustment of the Stability and Growth Pact will be under review. The Executive Committee of December 1 is therefore an important opportunity to hear Mr. Junker’s views about the challenges faced by Europe and to make our views known to him.

Among others points the Executive Committee will discuss its position on the future of the social policy agenda and the REACH dossier.
