Simplification of EU legislation: ETUC reaction
Following the presentation by the European Commission of its simplification of EU legislation, John Monks said: "The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is concerned about an ideological approach to `better regulation’.
"We are worried that health and safety could be affected by Commissioner Verheugen’s announcement of simplifying EU legislation. We’ll be seeking a meeting with him to establish precisely what he has in mind, because health and safety standards have to be maintained."
