On 5 and 6 June, trade union leaders from across Europe will gather in Dublin for Mid-term conference “High noon for social Europe” organised by the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).

This major event - which will be accessible to the press - will focus on the need of a strong social Europe for workers and citizens.

At a time of crisis and social emergency, European trade unions demand a radical change of course and propose their alternatives to restore growth, tackle unemployment and build a fairer Europe.

The Conference is open to the press and the journalists are cordially invited. It will offer an opportunity for you to talk to the General Secretaries / Presidents of the Trade Union organisations.

Bernadette Ségol, General Secretary of the ETUC and David Begg, General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), will hold an opening press conference on 5th June in the Presidents Room at Dublin Castle.
