
Anticipating the transition: engaging young workers today to reach 2050 goals
In March 2011, the European Commission published its Roadmap 2050, setting out the EU’s strategic options to achieve a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) of 80-95% by 2050 based on 1990 levels. These changes will be implemented in the coming 40 years, affecting the whole working life of young workers entering the labour market today.
Trade unionists responsible for climate, industrial and environmental policies are brought together with our young trade union leaders from the ETUC Youth Committee.
The project will engage for the first time these two groups to develop joint activities targeting the changing behavior of young workers, and to promote youth champions for greening their workplaces.
June 2013 ETUC seminar where there were presented the preliminary results of the study and identify good practices.
Final Conference in September-October where the study will be presented to a wider audience followed by an evaluation of joint activity and identification of next steps.
