The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is organising a high-level conference on 28 January, on the theme of the social dimension of the European Union. How can we crystallise the social dimension of Europe? What role could the social partners play in the new governance procedures which are being set up? These are just two of the questions we will be trying to answer.

This event will bring together the main European trade union leaders, as well as Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament; Lásló Andor, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and Olli Rehn, European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs.

On this occasion, the ETUC will be celebrating its fortieth anniversary and unveiling its new visual branding.

It is open to the press and you are cordially invited.

It will offer an opportunity for you to talk to the General Secretaries / Presidents of the Trade Union organisations.
